Skinseedbot

Skinseedbot is the moderation bot on Skinseed. When a skin gets redacted, a comment will show up on the skin from skinseedbot stating that the skin is redacted, as well as the comment thread. This comment can also show up on comment threads containing a large amount of inappropriate words or phrases, without the skin itself being effected.

Some people believe that following skinseedbot makes you popular and have claimed to have gotten large amounts of followers after following it. Some people debate weather the Skinseedbot account is owned by a real person, or only controlled by code in the app as a bot.The idea of skinseedbot being operated by a human sparked the trend in 2016-2018 and some of 2019 in which users would tag skinseedbot in the comments of posts, thinking it counted as a report or would get a moderator's attention to redact the content faster. Many of these people didn't know how to report a skin, and thought that was the correct way, as they'd seen many others do it.
