Africa Sunrise is the name of the company that created skinseed and skinseed messanger, owned by Jason Taylor. Whether or not it is a fully functioning company is debated by many in the community, however, as many believe Jason is the only one involved in the company. The company is also referred to as "the Skinseed team" by Jason himself on the News and Announcements tab on Skinseed.
Jason's announcement, referring to the "Skinseed team"
While Jason presents Africa Sunrise as a team of people, many believe this is only to make his app appear more official or his work more professional, when it's really just him. This is mostly due to the seemingly slow development of the app, lack of attention to moderation, and frequent bugs in Skinseed's functionality. As well as the new issues coming up such as photo profile pictures no longer working as a result of a possible bug fixing update gone wrong, with no further attention given. The supposed team is also known to disregaurd any emails concerning the app, which adds to the belief that there truly is only one individual on said "team". It is also a noted possibility that Africa Sunrise used to have more people on the team working on Skinseed and apps surrounding it, possibly in 2016 and early 2017 when the android version of skinseed transitioned from it's old, orange design to the one we know today, but those other developers have since left the team, leaving only Jason in present day. Something that could possibly hint to this is a couple folders in the skinseed files titled "Dave Morrissey" and "PhilipCalvin", possibly implying the identities of other people who could have been involved in development in some way.

Interestingly, Africa Sunrise is only listed as the owner of Skinseed on the android play store, while on the ios app store, the creator is listed as Jason Taylor himself. Africa Sunrise also has their own website, https://africasunrise.com/ used to display all the apps they've released, including Skinseed, Skinseed Pro, Skinseed photo, and Mojiseed . Oddly, Skinseed Messenger is not listed, despite being made by the same team and/or individual and connected to the app the company is most known for.
After the moderation update , Jason released a statement claiming to have worked on skinseed with some of his "friends" and past this point, this supposed skinseed team would finally respond to emails from users, which they had never done before. The emails would be signed with the names "Ellie" and "Alex", with Ellie being the most common. Many people in the community suspect that these other mods/team members aren't even real people due to the timing of their appearance, as well as skinseed and it's team being thought to be unprofessional.
